When there are a number of vendors selling the same product, you are left with three choices – brand, quality or price. You can make your choiceand the decision will be final. Some people prefer brands because they are very particular about who they do business with. They are willing to pay any price just to get that name tag; sometimes even by over looking quality. Just because a company has a brand name, it doesn’t mean the company sells only branded products. They might, due to some mistake, release a poor quality product. Yet still, there are people who are willing to forget that and buy the name.
When a company is new and doesn’t have the name tag attached to it, they release products that are high in quality and maybe low in price, until they establish a customer base. They want to get known and appreciated; it is their lifeline and they will do anything to preserve it. However, once they establish a name for themselves, they loosen up a little and compromise on the quality. Not all companies do that, but some do and eventually they suffer; they lose customers. The company is trying to sell the brand and not the product and that is not what most people want.
So, whatdo you consider more prominent in your choice of buying a product? What influences your ultimate decision? Brands are important to identify the product of one particular company to another, but it should be without any compromise in quality or a hike in price.
